The Northside Healing Space in North Minneapolis has been a community-driven solution to healing trauma since 2007. When they partnered with ASID Minnesota to refresh their gathering space, they wanted to keep the fireplace and its original tilework, but make it safer and easier to use.

As fire can be elemental in creating a peaceful and soothing environment to promote healing, Fireside was thrilled to collaborate by donating a gas insert.

A gas insert is designed to fit inside an existing wood-burning fireplace opening to provide extra heat and ambiance at the touch of a button. In addition to being convenient and safe, a gas insert is a great option when repairing an existing wood fireplace chimney is either impossible or cost prohibitive. The completely enclosed venting system also ensures great indoor air quality. Anyone can enjoy an instant fire by using a switch or remote control to operate the insert.

A custom surround on this project helped bridge the gap between the new gas insert and the existing wood fireplace to create a cozy corner for all guests.
